Buy it because you love it, because it’s one of a kind, but not because it’s cheap. We see a fair number of people who bring in a flea market treasure only to discover that it’s pressboard with a thin veneer of wood. Professionals know the tricks, but casual shoppers can easily be misled.

With over 20 years of experience in repairing and refinishing furniture, New England Refinishing has developed a proven process to match the color and finish of any damaged furniture so you will never know it was damage. We offer pick-up and delivery service so we can perform the work in a controlled environment in our shop.

Step 1: Prepare Surface - we start by cleaning the damaged area with a special compound and lightly sanding it to accept the new finish. If it is a full refinishing job, will completely strip and sand the piece.

Step 2: Repair Damage - depending on the type of damage, we may have to rebuild custom parts for the piece or fill in cracks and gaps. In any case, we use “period-authentic” techniques and aged wood whenever possible for perfect matching and authenticity.

Step 3: Repair Finish - we prepare a special mix of colorant and lacquer to expertly match your desired finish. Through countless finishing repair jobs, we have learned the correct mix of colorants and application techniques, combined with our knowledge of the characteristics of the type of wood being serviced, to ensure your piece comes out perfectly.
